Mac life

M, to me: Suki, could you send me this text?
Me: Yeah sure... . Oh wait, it's on the PC. I don't feel like firing up that old hag!

Uncle: My PC is prehistoric! Pentium I, 230 MHz processor, 64MB RAM!
Me: I have... er... 20 times the processing power and 40 times the RAM you got.

Note: Major respect for the patience of people still living with PCs.

you don't miss what you don't know.

when I had my old PC, I would have been gobsmacked if anything had lessened the annoying noise its fan made.

When I returned to a PC temporarily after three years on a laptop, I wanted to punch the monitor within five minutes of beginning, and the fan wasn't even noisy anymore. It was simply that I was used to much, much better now.

If you love your uncle, gift him a Macbook Pro and watch him chuck his old PC like it never existed. :D i've noticed that older people are more enthu about technological marvels than we are.

excuse the comment/essay. :)

Mr Kahn: I know, I know!

Spazzie: LOL, tech-lovey essays are always welcome :D. I wish I had the money for a Macbook Pro myself - let alone enough to gift it to someone!

Hey there! It's been a while since I commented, but I've been prowling around.

Mac does offer a world of possibilities and improvements on the surface, no doubt. But Apple and "flexibility" are two things that simply do not go together. Apple products aren't exactly designed for customization. And it's impossible to develop portable software on a Mac!

Owing to the nature of my line of study, my life pretty much depends on portable software. I suppose, as far as general multimedia and word processing operations are concerned, Mac does score well above the PC. I still think it's more of a case of what you're willing to trade for what.
