I subscribed to Tata Indicom Photon Plus, a wireless broadband connection, today - 12th December 2009. My computer is a MacBook - the latest basic model, with pre-loaded Snow Leopard (OS 10.6).
When I plugged in the USB dongle, the installer program started up. But when I tried to click on the installer file, it refused to open and crashed every time.
Here's what made it work -
1. Two-finger click on the installer file, and click "Show Package contents"
2. Click the .pkg file in the contents/resources folder. The package installs automatically, and opens network preferences.
3. Enter a phone number, account name and password. Account name and password are usually sent via email (a bit inconvenient if this is to be your online Internet connection, hehe).
4. Start surfing!
Yes, it's as simple as that. Problem is, no one tells you to do it.
Yeah, this post is designed to get traffic. "Traffic" here = Tata Indicom users who are on Snow Leopard and feeling victimized by inept customer service ;-). Much gratitude to the person who put up this post, where I got my info.

Dear Suki! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! This solved all my problems, and has new made me a very happy person! I am from Norway, but at the moment staying in India, and I was quite frankly shocked by the lack of support from the Tata indicom. However this is no longer a concern thanks to You! Big love! -Raymond
@Raymond: Most Indian companies are completely at a loss when faced with Non-Windows platforms, sadly.
To compensate, the few of us who use Macs do our best to put out the information for people who need it.
Glad this post came of use!
Thanks buddy. It worked

Oh, and if you want it private just "because it's too long", I probably won't oblige. "because it's too private/close to home" would be a better case for leaving private comments :).
Pleased to meet you! If you're having difficulties posting comments, feel free to email me. I'll publish under your name and url if required(trust me :P).
