How short hair is WEIRD

  1. It's in my face ALL the time! No more bundling into a clutch or braid and putting it out of the way
  2. There's hair around my ears! :gasp: And I - Miss "Hair OUT of the Way!" - allowed it instead of pinning it severely back! :gaspandchoke:
  3. The comb abruptly goes into nowhere halfway through a stroke
  4. There's no damp hair clinging to my neck when I shower
  5. Towelling dry, no turbans involved. Oh boy.
  6. Being able to wet my hair, whenever. Liberation!

Lol suki, you can still keep the hair out of your face - use a head band.

OR start at your face, take small sections of hair and twist the small section roundy-round a few times back away from your face and secure it in place with a clip or pin. So cute.

YOU'RE cute, live it up!

What was that "hair out of the way" quip again? :)

@Gringa - Hmm, nice tip. Gotta try that!

@Perakath - In the days of long hair, my hair was always severely brushed back. Braid was the norm, ponytail was "letting my hair down". Having anything over my ears? Unheard of.
Now, do you see where the "hair out of the way" came from?

You mean you've never had your hair short before this? Well, I've never kept my hair long enough for a proper braid. It will unravel within an hour or so!

@Anu: Well, I did have it short till I was 7, and cut it again once 8 years ago. But that's long enough for me to forget what it was like!

I think it's better if you can't pull it back. Pulling it back is bad for it, or so some hairdressers have told me.

And whatever about the one who gave you crap for shampooing wrong. All the ones I've talked to say it's better to let it get dirty and moisturized by natural oils. You gotta do what works best for you. :)

@FG: Yes, my forehead has a marked thinning patch on it - that was part of the motivation for cutting my hair short this time around. Still, it's really really unfamiliar!

Oh, and the hairdresser didn't know I don't shampoo at all :P. She would've had a fit, so I didn't bother telling her I've been using shikakai instead of shampoo for a year :P.

YOU SAID IT! the best part is that i can wash it in around 2 minutes and comb it in another 30 seconds and then i'm raring to go :D

Suki said...

@Anu: It takes me 5 minutes instead of 2 because of the no-shampoo-so-scrub-scalp, but YAY! I can wash my hair every day even in cold weather :D Life doesn't get better than this!
